Privacy policy

In one sentence: Marlek collects no data at all. It translates on your device, and what you save (your messages and your progress) stays on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own iCloud account, which we cannot access. No accounts, no ads, no tracking, no third parties.

Data we do not collect

Marlek is labeled "Data Not Collected" on the App Store. We do not gather, store, or transmit any personal information. Specifically, Marlek does not:

• ask you to create an account or sign in;
• ask for your name, email, phone number, or location;
• use ads or advertising networks;
• include analytics, telemetry, or third-party tracking SDKs;
• send your text to a server of ours or of any third party. The only copy off your device is the one in your own iCloud, and only if you use it (see "What Marlek saves").

Everything happens on your device

Translation between Spanish and Marlek happens entirely on your iPhone or iPad, using a fixed cipher table bundled with the app. The Practice games and the share cards happen on your device too. No internet connection is required to translate or to practice.

What Marlek saves

Marlek saves two things on your device, and only those:

• My Messages: the messages you choose to save, with their title if you give them one and the date you saved them.
• Your Practice progress: your correct answers per symbol, your day streak and your rank.

If your iPhone or iPad has iCloud turned on, Marlek also keeps a copy of those two things in the private database of your iCloud account, so you can see them on your other devices. Apple stores that copy, tied to your Apple Account; we have no access to it and cannot see it. If you don't use iCloud, everything stays on your device only.

How to delete your data

• To delete a message in My Messages, swipe it to the left, or touch and hold it and choose Delete. It is deleted from your device and from your iCloud.
• If you delete the app, what was saved on that device is deleted. The iCloud copy stays until you delete it.
• To delete the iCloud copy, go to Settings → your name → iCloud → Storage (or Manage Account Storage), tap Marlek, then tap Delete Data from iCloud.

Because we have no access to your data, we cannot see it or delete it for you. If you have questions, email us and we will help you do it.

Apple diagnostics

Marlek uses MetricKit, Apple's tool, to record technical performance and crash data on your device, such as launch time or a hang. That data stays on your device and Marlek does not send it anywhere. If "Share With App Developers" is turned on on your iPhone or iPad, Apple may send us crash reports that do not identify you. Apple controls that, and you can turn it off in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

Siri, Shortcuts and the Share menu

When you translate with Siri, a shortcut, Control Center or the Share menu, Marlek does the translation on your device. What you say to Siri is processed by Apple under its own privacy policy. Cards and messages only leave your device if you share them, and then the app or person you choose receives them.

The Marlek keyboard

Marlek includes a system keyboard that lets you write Marlek inside other apps. This keyboard works without "Full Access": it only converts what you type into Marlek. It does not log keystrokes, does not save what you write, and has no network access. It cannot see or send your text anywhere.

Children and families

Marlek is meant for playful use between friends and family. Because we collect no data from anyone, we collect no data from minors either. There are no profiles, no advertising, and no external content.

Who publishes Marlek

Marlek is published by KHASSINX LLC (a Florida limited liability company) as the App Store publisher. The Marlek language and its cipher are the work of its creator, publicly credited as Slime@YT.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. Material changes will also be reflected on the App Store listing.

What version 1.1 corrects. Version 1.0 of this policy, dated June 8, 2026, said your favorites did not sync to iCloud. That is no longer true: if you use iCloud, your saved messages are also kept in your private iCloud, and this policy did not say so. We are saying so rather than correcting it quietly. This version also describes Practice, the cards, Siri and Shortcuts, and how to delete your data.
