What does reach us: crash reports that Apple sends us without data that identifies you, if “Share With App Developers” is on in your device settings, and the emails you send us.

What you can do

Translator: Type in Spanish and watch the Marlek appear instantly. Or the other way around: paste a secret message and read it in Spanish. It works both ways, and with Siri, Shortcuts and Control Center too.
Marlek keyboard: A system keyboard: turn it on and write Marlek inside any app, in messages, notes, anywhere. No Full Access required.
Key table: The full key sheet, always within reach. Every letter and symbol with its Marlek equivalent, to learn or look up.
Practice: Learn the code by playing, without the key sheet: Time Attack, Write the Letter, Decode the Message and Choose the Answer. With a day streak and ranks, from Initiate to Marlek Master.
Share cards: Turn a short message or your rank into a card, in story or square format, for your chats and stories.
My Messages: Save the messages you want to see again, give them a title and search them. If you use iCloud, you see them on all your devices.

What is Marlek?

Marlek is a cipher language: every letter, number, or symbol is swapped for another character or emoji, following a fixed table. Its creator invented it with pen and paper; this app brings it to your iPhone and iPad.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need internet to use it?

No. All translation happens on your device. Marlek works offline.

Do my messages sync between iPhone and iPad?

Yes, if both have iCloud turned on with the same account. Your saved messages and your Practice progress are kept in your own iCloud, which we cannot access. Without iCloud, they stay on each device only. More details in the privacy policy.

Can the keyboard see what I type?

No. The Marlek keyboard works without “Full Access”: it only converts what you type into Marlek. It does not save what you write and has no internet access.

Which devices does it work on?

Marlek is for iPhone and iPad. On iPad it adapts with a sidebar and a comfortable reading width.
